Jamison Black
Jamison Black brings bold colors and intense imagery to his work. Born on Douglas Mesa in Tsé Bii’ndzisgai (Monument Valley), Jamison grew up in a basket making family. He learned to weave from his famous mother, Mary Holiday Black, and joined his brothers and sisters in the task of gathering and processing sumac for baskets. His work has been featured in a variety of galleries and museums. In addition to weaving baskets, Jamison shares Diné (Navajo) culture and history guiding horseback trips in Monument Valley.
